Cd 3 and heroes

Yesterday M and I finally did something that we've been meaning to do for years-have our wills made. A lawyer named K brought Wills for Heroes to our area. It was created shortly after Sept. 11 when it was discovered that many firefighters and police officers did not have wills. They had an excellent turn out. Our appointment was at 10 a.m. We brought our questionnaire with us and were seated shortly with a lawyer. I had to have blood work drawn as yesterday was cd 3. The lab was open from 7 am to 2 pm. We decided to go after having our wills made. Our lawyer was very nice but not very familiar with the computer nor the Will computer program. K saw us still there at almost 1 pm and notarized it for us and had witnesses sign it for us also. We made it to the lab with 15 mins to spare. We should have been out of there around noon (they told us to allow 1 hour per person, in addition to the will it included power of attorney and a living will). We are very thankful to the lawyers who volunteered their time and for the program. M sent K an email thanking her and volunteering his computer expertise for next year, she does Wills for Heroes again.
Last night we went out for dinner. We had pizza, crab and lobster bisque soup, appetizers and amaretto sours. Cannolis ended our meal. Yum! This restaurant was written about in "I Heard You Paint Houses". Very interesting stuff--I couldn't put the book down! It is also being made into a movie.
I have work at the big OG tonight. I switched with my friend. At least tonight we close at 10, which is one hour earlier than my Sat night.
It is bitter, bitter cold here. Off to make my french press coffee and have something warm for breakfast.

Let's get this party started

Aunt Flo arrived today. One day late, of course. I called Nurse Grace for further instructions. This Saturday M and I will be getting blood work done and Feb 10 is my sonohystegram and our teaching session. Also, we will be getting our protocol and med list on that day. I hope all our blood work comes back ok. I'm wondering what my thyroid level will be.
Today it snowed. Not heavy enough for a delay but enough to make the roads slick. I wondered aloud if it was going to keep (I was thinking early dismissal) but M said that it would soon stop. Now it's so windy. We don't have any trees around our house and it just wreaks havoc on stuff. My flags have blown away, our 200 lb grill took a beating the other day and we've lost covers to our concrete blocks (the foundation to our future four season room).
Now to figure out what to have for dinner. Sometimes when I was little my Dad would say we're having Skip. Joking that we would have nothing for dinner--skip dinner.

Sunday Sunday

Today is the only day where I don't have any kind of work. It's so nice. I modified my walk/run: it's now walk 4 mins/ run 5 mins. I will gradually degrease the walking time. I did Day 2 of 8 week balance yoga. That brings me to a grand total of 1 hour and 32 minutes of working out today.
I'm trying to finish laundry and other odds and ends around the house.
Last night was a nut house at the big OG. You would have thought we were giving something away for free. The bar was so busy. I was so happy to be done and home.
It's dreary outside--it's supposed to pour buckets. Hmmm if only it was few degrees cooler it could snow and we would have off tomorrow ;-) Is there a snow dance I can do?

Yoga

I didn't run on the treadmill. I did Day 1 from Moving Toward Balance by Rodney Yee. It was refreshing to do something different. I just wasn't in the mood to run today. I forgot how challenging some of the poses are. My leg muscles are sore. I thought it would be a good idea to add some yoga into the mix for grounding myself and meditating--because I know the next two months are going to be quite a journey.

Back to the old grind

I fell off the wagon with walking and running. Today I'm hopping back on.
My plan, for a long time now, is to exercise in the morning. I am not a morning person. Nerves this week have been messing with my sleep. I've been having broken sleep and weird dreams. When it's time to get up to exercise I choose to sleep. I work with first graders all day. I need my rest to function with them. I also need to work out because that provides energy and stress release. I am too tired in the evening after I put down E to bed. I need to find a happy medium. I also need to drop some pounds before the meds put on pounds.
I called Nurse Grace yesterday. She put in all the blood work orders and analysis in the computer. I'm waiting for cd1 so I can call and get scheduled for blood work and my sonohystogram.
I've been looking on line for the W.ii Fit Plus--sold out! I should have my Mom look-she's really good at finding hard to get items.
I'm getting my hair colored and cut at noon. I'm wondering what color should I get? My hair is naturally a very dark brown. Last time I got a reddish brown. I'm thinking of a nice chocolate brown.
I'm going to don my new sports bra and get moving. I hope you have a great day ;-)

Heart palipitations

The check for our i.vf was mailed today. Oh my gawd! I'm nervous, excited and scared. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster and I'm seated in the last cart going over the first big hill.

Yesterday and stuff

I returned the coat, other clothes and the bathroom rugs yesterday. I tried to return the Christmas wreaths at Wally world but they told me they don't accept Christmas returns after Jan 3. Isn't that crazy? I did pick out new carpets for the bathroom. They are reversible.
I'm very tired today. I wish we had nap time at school. We should take a note out of France's book--they shut down everything for lunch. I'm going to make some French press coffee. That should help.

2 Strikes

Strike 1 - The red coat came. It didn't fit well. The arm length is okay but it's too tight around the arm holes and too big around the middle. I'm disappointed in the overall coat for it being 169.00.
Strike 2 - I could not find a W.ii Fit Plus to save my life today. All sold out at T.arget and Wally World.
I'll still keep looking for a coat. Spring is just around the corner and clothing stores are gearing up for the warmer seasons (yuck T.arget and their bikinis) but you never know. Same thing for W.ii Fit Plus--I'll keep searching.
My friend J and I were bartending Saturday evening. She told me how she got the W.ii Fit Plus and how much she enjoys it. J was telling me about the hula hoop activity and demonstrating how when you are hula hooping it gives you balls to catch. She made me laugh so hard. I wonder what the guests thought?
I did purchase some lovely bathroom rugs and pistachios during my shopping extravaganza today.
I must hop back on the treadmill. I only did 15 minutes on Saturday because I went to meet one of my dear friends to help find her wedding dress. She did and it's gorgeous! I did not run yesterday because I was very tired due to M being sick. I'm staying the same weight. That's good because I'm not gaining.
I bought Rihanna's cd and I do enjoy her music. makes me want to dance ;-)

Bug and other stuff

I am tired. I worked last night at the big OG and didn't get home until almost 1 am. I was having a bowl of cereal and watching tv when I heard footsteps upstairs. M got E's bug. E stayed home from school on Friday because she was so sick. I had such big plans for today. It included getting an old fashioned donut and shopping. I'm taking care of M and just hanging out today. E is with my parents until tomorrow. She recovered quickly and is getting quality time with Mimi and Poppy.
I've decided I'm getting a W.ii Fit Plus. Mel and my friend J have convinced me that getting in shape is fun with the W.ii. I've been doing well running on the treadmill and using my stability ball. But it's nice to have a new routine. It keeps the body on its toes and keeps you from being bored.
I'm almost done with the laundry. I feel so great after I've done it all. Being able to see my laundry room floor is equivalent to winning a gold medal for me. I've read all the newspapers. I think it might be time for a nap. I know Kona and Logan would agree.

Re consult

We met with Dr. G today. She explained briefly how our cycle would work. She's a very nice woman. I'm to call on cd 1 and then we get the ball rolling. I've never wanted aunt flo to come so quickly! She's due to arrive on Jan 27. It was surreal to be there.
We have the pre i.vf testing, such as: blood work for both of us, M's swimmer analysis and a sonohystogram for me. She will be ordering blood work to make sure my thyroid level is where it should be. We also discussed the results of my lap (some endo found on my bladder and two polyps in my uterus) and she said she's not too concerned with it.
I asked about their success rate -40%. Live birth rate is about the same. I just wish their was something else other than giving progesterone to make the cycle a successful one.
We are embarking on a huge journey. It's one thing to read blogs and books about it but to be going through it soon is another whole bunch of emotions. I'm ready as I'll ever be. I would always regret not doing it.

Red coat

I've wanted this coat for a long time. The Lan.ds End women's wool car coat. I kept meaning to order it and then I would forget. It went on sale and of course they were out of my size. I bookmarked the page and today it was there! Not the exact size I wanted but I got it in the next size up. I could always take it to a tailor. It's red and it's fabulous!

Boo boo

Last night M went to play basketball with his fellow firefighters. They have an annual fundraiser for St. Jude in which they play against local policemen. He came home early with an injury. We just came home from the doctors and he has an injury to his Achilles tendon. With rest, ice and ibuprofen he should be okay.
I ran again last night. I'm doing good with the 5 mins walk/5 mins run but I would really like to switch it to the morning. I did some stability ball exercises. I did ones for my inner and outer thighs--boy do they burn!
It's supposed to get up to 40 degrees on Thursday--it's going to feel like a heatwave here.
I asked M if he had any questions for the re on Thursday. He said he'd like to know what our next step is. I filled him in that we have to wait for our paperwork from the business office, pay them, get our pre ivf testing done and establish a protocol. He said ok. He jokingly asked if he still has to go. I want to be aggressive as we can be considering our ages (34 and 39).
Does anyone have questions that would be good to ask her? We had a consultation with her two years ago but I don't even remember much from that visit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brrrrr

It is bitter cold here. I took the dogs outside this morning and the chill goes right to your bones. I'm definitely dressing in layers today.
I have work at 4 (yech) and I'm going to try to get down to my jewelers to get my wedding band. It's been there since before Christmas. Two of the stones were loose and my band had a crack in it. I'm supposed to take it in for routine maintenance but I don't get down there that often. It's about a 50 minute drive.
I'm going to test drive my new a.didas sneakers today. They are very light weight. I used to be an a.sics girl but they were very hard to find around here. I can buy good ad.idas sneakers for $40-$50. I also got new running socks and new sports bras. You got to have the right tools for the job.
I've done so many different things to lose weight--yoga, pilates, circuit training, stability ball and tae bo. Running is the only one that makes me feel like I'm doing something. All of those other activities are good. I guess it's just my mindset. All righty I'm off!

Delay

2 hour delay this morning! Yay for snow!
I made french toast this morning and served it with real maple syrup. I'm going to let my breakfast settle and then do my walk for 5 minutes then run for 5 minutes on the treadmill.
Now, if only I can get up early on a regular day and do this ;-)

Hi there!

I've heard it's Delurking Week here in blogland. I've often wondered who else read this blog. I know myself will sometimes read blogs and not comment because I'm only on the computer for a few minutes.
I went to the store today to buy some necessities. I'm in line when I hear the cashier say they are only accepting checks and cash because their system is down. I hardly ever have cash on me. I use my debit card for everything. I went back home, had dinner and then got some cash and went back. It makes me think what if something really bad happened to the system that accepts credit cards and debit cards? A whole bunch of us would be up the creek without a paddle.
I had a dentist appointment on Monday. No cavities and I received praise from my hygienist for flossing and brushing well. She was scheduling my next appointment and said it wouldn't be until October. Gee, I thought. I usually come back around June. I asked why October and she told me the office would be closed for three months. I kinda figured it out before she told me why--my dentist was pregnant. That makes three pregnancy announcements in the span of 48 hours. Lucky me. I did congratulate her and we spoke about the pregnancy and her children (two). She knows about my if and didn't ask me anything about it (She always does. She even recommended to my Dad about buying the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book). I guess she felt too weird to say something. It made me feel bad that she didn't ask.
One week today is our appointment with Dr. G. I wish we could skip it and go straight to pre ivf testing. I'm tired of waiting. This is our fifth year of trying. It's time for us to have our baby.

A new year and other goings on

Happy New Year! I was awakened with fireworks by my neighbors at midnight. I went to bed at eleven because New Year's Day we drove to Philly for the Mummer's Parade. Those mummer's know how to party. Even El.vis made an appearance! The costumes were elaborate (I'm waiting for my Mom to upload her photos) and the music was pumpin'. My best friend who lives in Philly had her Mum.mer's Day party again. Her house is right down the street from the parade route. We had a great time!
We did have to leave early yesterday because I had work at 4pm at the big OG. That's when my day started going downhill. I called my make up lady to set up an appointment and she told me her daughter is having a boy. I get ambushed by a server at work who tells me she's five months pregnant, my manager schedules me to serve today (I told her over a month ago I'm not serving on Sunday's anymore--I don't want to work seven days a week. Six days is plenty.), she accuses me of being a no call/no show last Sunday serving (the night manager took me off the schedule and neglected to tell anyone), I wrote before that Aunt Flo had come but it turned out to be spotting--she really came last night when I was working (how convenient), I come home and check my mail on the computer and E comes in because she had an accident in bed--I had to change the entire bed. Are you kidding me? I think I'm being tested sometimes.
Today we are going shopping for all kinds of stuff: blinds for the kitchen doors and my bedroom windows, sneakers, sport bras, pj's and laundry stuff. Maybe a cd that I wanted for Christmas but did not get.
I'm doing pretty good exercising. Either running or doing my J.illian Michael's workout. I did not workout this Friday or Saturday because of traveling and working. Today I'm back on track. We have our meeting with Dr. G in less than two weeks and then it's go time and I want to be a couple pounds lighter before beginning my i.vf cycle.
What's new with you?
